Getting started with Studio

Create a free account — no commitment, no credit card. Here's what to gather, what happens after signup, and answers to common questions before your first configuration.

Three steps to your first configuration

You don't need everything on day one. Here's the path from signup to configured fixture.

1

Gather your files

What you need depends on which tool you start with.

DFT Analysis — Test point data (CSV, spreadsheet, or EDA export). See accepted formats

Test Strategy — Your schematic (PDF).

Fixture configuration — Test point data, manufacturing files (Gerbers or ODB++), and a STEP model. Full walkthrough in the configuration guide.

2

Pick your starting tool

If you're still working on your board layout, start with DFT Analysis — it flags testability issues while changes are still cheap. If you want to plan test coverage across your product lifecycle, try Test Strategy. If you know what you need and you're ready to order, go straight to fixture configuration.

Not sure? Start with DFT Analysis. It only needs a test point CSV and gives you testability feedback in minutes. No commitment to configure or order.
3

Create your account and go

Sign up at studio.fixturfab.com. All three tools are available immediately. No onboarding sequence, no setup process. Start anywhere, come back anytime.

What to expect after signup

Your account opens with full access to DFT Analysis, Test Strategy, and fixture configuration. There's nothing to unlock and no waiting period.

FAQ

Common questions before your first configuration

It depends on the tool. DFT Analysis needs your test point data — a CSV, spreadsheet, or EDA export. Fixture configuration needs a fuller package: test point data, manufacturing files, and a STEP model. Each tool’s page covers accepted formats and how to export from common EDA tools.
If you’re still working on your board layout, start with DFT Analysis — it flags testability issues while changes are still cheap. If you want to plan test coverage across your product lifecycle, try Test Strategy. If you know what you need and you’re ready to order, go straight to fixture configuration.
Studio handles the majority of fixture configurations. If your project has unusual requirements — non-standard board sizes, specialized test conditions, or instrumentation integration — contact us. We often find a path forward, either by adapting the configuration or scoping a custom project.
No, but it’s worth doing. DFT analysis catches spacing violations and accessibility issues that could affect your fixture configuration. Fixing those before you configure saves iteration cycles and avoids surprises during engineer review.
Most teams start with Dev or Dev Pro and scale up as their product matures. Compare Dev, Dev Pro, and Production on the fixture overview page to see which fits your stage.
Studio shows pricing that updates in real time as you configure. After you submit, a FixturFab engineer reviews your design and confirms the quote — typically within 24 hours. No hidden fees or surprises. What you see during configuration reflects your exact specifications.
Dev and Dev Pro fixtures ship in 2–3 weeks. Production fixtures ship in 6–8 weeks — the longer lead time is driven by material procurement. Expedited options are available for all tiers when timelines are tight.
Yes. A Studio account gives you full access to DFT Analysis, Test Strategy, and the fixture configurator. No credit card required, no commitment to order. You can explore tools, upload design files, and get pricing without spending anything.
