Configure your fixture
Skip the RFQ cycles. Configure your bed-of-nails fixture online, see pricing as you go, and have it delivered in 2-3 weeks. No sales calls unless you want one. No minimums.
What you'll need
Have these ready before you start. Most configurations take 10-20 minutes.
Required files
Your test point data (coordinates and net names), a set of manufacturing files (ODB++, Gerbers, or equivalent from your EDA tool), and a STEP model of the PCBA. Studio accepts multiple formats—see the Studio documentation for details on what's supported and how to export from common EDA tools. All projects run under mutual NDA—the same files you'd share with your CM work here.
Recommended
A complete design package speeds up our engineer review. If you're early in development, start with what you have—you don't need finalized design files to explore pricing, but you will need complete files before submitting for a final quote or order.
Know your project
You'll move faster if you know your board dimensions, approximate test point count, roughly how many boards you're testing with the fixture, when you need the first fixture, and how you plan to use it—what you're connecting to it and what you're testing.
Five steps to a configured fixture
Upload design files
Upload your test point data, manufacturing files, and STEP model. Studio accepts multiple formats—see the Studio documentation if you need help exporting from your EDA tool.
Analyze your design
Studio analyzes your uploaded files and extracts testing features from your board data. You'll see what Studio found and can review before moving forward.
Create a test configuration
Define what the fixture needs to test on your specific board. This is where you tell Studio exactly what signals, test points, and coverage the fixture should support—so the fixture is built around your actual testing requirements, not just your board geometry.
Configure your fixture
Select your fixture tier, configure the signal interface, and choose accessories. Pricing updates in real time as you go—no RFQ cycles, no waiting for a sales response.
Fixture tier guidance
Dev starts around $999 for prototyping (~1,000 test cycles). Dev Pro handles pre-production validation with exchangeable cartridges (~10,000 cycles). Production is factory-grade for manufacturing lines. Compare tiers in detail on the fixture overview page, or go directly to Dev, Dev Pro, or Production.
Signal interface guidance
This comes down to how many test points you have. Under ~50? Bare receptacles work well—wire your own connections. 50+? Auto TPCB routes signals through a PCB to standard connectors—no hand-wiring, no wiring errors. Want to own the signal path? Consigned TPCB lets you design the routing board while we integrate it. Learn more about signal interface options.
Submit and we review it
When you submit, a FixturFab engineer reviews your design files and configuration within 24 hours—checking probe selection, DFT issues, and configuration gaps that would delay manufacturing. Think of it as a free sanity check backed by over a decade of fixture design experience.
Dev and Dev Pro fixtures ship in 2-3 weeks. Production fixtures ship in 6-8 weeks standard, or 2-3 weeks with advance material stocking. Need it faster? Expedited options are available for all tiers.

When to contact us instead
Studio handles the majority of fixture configurations, but some projects need a conversation first:
- Board outside supported fixture bases — If your board exceeds the dimensions Studio supports, we'll need to discuss options for your specific situation.
- Instrumentation integration or test software — If you need us to integrate specific instrumentation into the fixture or develop software to run on it, that falls under our custom test solutions—Studio's standard workflow doesn't support this.
- Not sure where to start — If you know you need a fixture but aren't sure about the details, talk to us. We can help you figure out the right configuration before you dive into Studio. If you've been building fixtures internally and hit a wall, or if you don't have ME resources to dedicate to fixtures, we've worked with teams in both situations.
