Guide Pins#
Pins for accurately positioning PCBAs in test fixtures. Spring guide pins and tooling pins engage with mounting holes on the board, ensuring repeatable alignment with test probes.
What We Carry#
- Spring Guide Pins — Conical-tip, spring-loaded pins that engage with mounting holes. Development fixtures use generic GP-2UL pins; production fixtures use Misumi PGPU pins for enhanced durability.
- Tooling Pins — Fixed pins for applications needing smaller holes (below 3mm) or side actuation. Available from Ingun, McMaster, and Misumi. Can be press-fit or screw-mounted.
Selection Guide#
| Hole Diameter | Fixture Type | Recommended Pin |
|---|---|---|
| 2.5-5mm | Development | GP-2UL spring guide pin |
| 2.5-5mm | Production | Misumi PGPU spring guide pin |
| Below 3mm | Any | Fixed tooling pin |
Specifications#
- Accommodate hole diameters from approximately 2.5mm to 5mm
- Spring loading compensates for board thickness variation
- Install into the fixture's probe plate and engage with PCB mounting holes
- Production tooling pins typically mount directly to the moving plate
